GLOBAL FOREST CARBON, Inc.is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation dedicated to the belief that sustainably managed forests around the globe have the potential to sequester all human caused carbon emissions. It was created to fund the purchase of forest lands expressly for the purpose of managing sustainable and viable carbon pools as well as continuous carbon sequestration. The forest lands purchased through Global Forest Carbon, Inc will be held in trust and managed in perpetuity by Global Forest Resources LLC to promote sustainable forestry as well as maintain and manage viable carbon pools.
Trees and forests are the most efficient and natural mechanism to remove carbon from the earth’s atmosphere and sequester it long term.
The recently concluded Conference of the Parties 26 (CoP26) in Glasgow, Scotland identified three primary goals: 1) to cut 30% of the greenhouse gas-methane by 2030; 2) 130 nations agreed to halt and reverse global deforestation by 2030; and 3) global financial institutions managing $130 trillion in assets agreed to align their investment portfolios with the goal of achieving zero net emissions by 2050. Global Forest Carbon is focused on the second goal- stopping and reversing global deforestation. Stopping and reversing over-cutting forests and non-sustainable forest practices requires a long-term commitment and stable land ownership patterns. The purpose of Global Forest Carbon is to provide funds for the purchase of forest lands to provide this critical stable land ownership. Global Forest Resources LLC can provide the management expertise and commitment to accomplish this goal on a national and international level.
Carbon assets managed by Global Forest Resources will be registered on the Global Forest Resources Carbon exchange Registry. All carbon sales will be managed through this Registry. The Registry Summary is available on the globalforestresources.com website. Protocols and procedures for forest and soils carbon offsets calculationsare defined in the Global Forest Resources Registry.
